Vidalia Mourns Loss of Former City Manager

Vidalia leaders and citizens are mourning the death of former City Manager Nick Overstreet, who passed away on Wednesday, August 13, at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

and was currently working on several projects within the area through his employment as a project manager for Roberts Civil Engineering. He was a member of the Vidalia Rotary Club, a local business owner, a husband, a father, and a friend to many.

The City of Vidalia issued a formal statement upon the news of Overstreet’s death, which read, “The City of Vidalia extends our heartfelt condolences to [Overstreet’s] family and friends. The contributions, service, and sacrifices that Mr. Overstreet made in and for our community will always be remembered with profound appreciation and gratitude.”

The former city manager was honored with a memorial service in Baxley on Monday, August 18.
