The Georgia Department of Public Health Injury Prevention Program will be hosting an online webinar to inform parents and caregivers how to spot and address bullying at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12.

This one-hour webinar will provide information on how to recognize what bullying looks like in various settings, understand the difference between typical peer conflict and bullying, understand why children bully, recognize warning signs of bullying in students, and learn effective ways to support children who are being bullied or have witnessed bullying. This interactive session will be led by Dr. Eric Landers, who currently works as an associate professor of elementary and special education at Georgia Southern University. Landers is very knowledgeable about bullying, as the topics which he often studies are schoolwide positive behavior interventions and support, functional behavior assessment, behavioral intervention planning, emotional and behavior disorders, classroom-based behavioral interventions, and more.

This event is free and welcome to any members of the public, but attendees must register to get the link to join the webinar. To register, contact the Tri-County Family Connection at (478) 6973782.
