Mr. Galin Derron Salem, age 26, died on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Mr. Salem was born in Vidalia and attended Toombs County High School, where he played football and baseball. He was employed with Hyundai Transys. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Iretha Salem Ruth; his paternal grandmother, Kimberly Smith; and his paternal great-grandmother, Louies Conner.

Survivors include his parents, Wesley Sherron Salem of Vidalia and Dollie L. Smith of Uvalda; 2 brothers, Dentelious Salem of El Paso, TX, and Adrian Murphy of Atlanta; 1 sister, Ariel Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL; 2 uncles, Tommy M. Salem and Steven (Summer) Smith, Jr., both of Vidalia; 3 aunts, Sharon (Tim) Mills of Vidalia, Angela Bowens of Jacksonville, FL, and Cynthia Conner of Uvalda; his maternal grandfather, Tommy L. Salem of Lyons; his paternal grandfather, Steve Smith, Sr., of Uvalda; his paternal great-grandmother, Dollie Snipes of Lauren Hill, FL; 1 special friend, Alisha Casella of Lyons; and many other relatives and friends.
