Vidalia 4th of July
Celebration
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 4, at Ronnie A. Dixon City Park in Downtown Vidalia. The event will feature live music, free activities, and food vendors. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. The event is free, but patrons should bring chairs. For more information, call (912) 538-8687.

Cantata
The Lyons Community Church Choir will perform a patriotic cantata, “In God We Trust,” at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 6, at the church’s sanctuary, located at 126 E. Wesley Avenue in Lyons. A luncheon will follow the free event. For more information, call (912) 403-3090.

Food Pantry
A community food pantry will be giving out a variety of frozen meats, fresh vegetables, and dry goods on Thursday, July 10, to households in Montgomery County struggling with food insecurity. This giveaway will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Mount Vernon First United Methodist Church, located at 120 McGregor Street in Mount Vernon. For more information, call (912) 583-2270.
