In 2024, Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted 1,042 total camps and distributed 102,000 Bibles during the camp season to coaches and athletes As students embark on their summer break, many parents are seeking camp experiences that keep their children active while encouraging spiritual growth. Each summer, thousands of coaches and athletes flock to Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA, www.fca.org) Camps across America and around the world. Each camp offers a dedicated space for coaches and athletes to hone in on their sport, build stronger teams, and — at the heart of it all — strengthen their faith.
'At FCA Camps across the globe, it's an utmost priority to see coaches and athletes equipped for both sports and life through God's Word,' says Josh Gilreath, FCA Chief Operations Officer. 'Many coaches and athletes receive their first Bible at an FCA Camp. Our prayer is that every coach and athlete has a copy of God’s Word in their hands, applies His Word to their heart, and ultimately shares His Word with their mouth.'
FCA Camps allow coaches and athletes to participate in an exciting, inspiring and healthy environment in which they can pursue their passion for sports, while also clearly seeing Christ’s passion for them. The emphasis on Christ’s impact on their lives and athletic careers sets FCA’s Camp program apart. To further a coach or athlete’s relationship with Christ, both during and after Camp, FCA distributes an FCA Bible to every camper.
Bible distributions are a key part of FCA’s ministry. In 2024 alone, FCA distributed 219,444 Bibles, 102,000 of which were distributed at camps. FCA’s Bible distribution around the world helps coaches and athletes develop a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. FCA Camps are a powerful place to share the Gospel and learn about the power of the Bible. In 2024, FCA hosted 1,058 total camps, with 557 taking place in the U.S. and 481 held internationally. In all, more than 114,548 campers participated from around the world, an incredible testament to the organization’s steadfast dedication to coaches and athletes. In 2025, FCA is anticipating an even greater reach.
FCA Camps offer competitors the opportunity to reach their potential through athletic, spiritual, and leadership training. There are six main types of Camps, including Sports Camps (multi-sport and sportspecific camps); Leadership Camps (developing coaches and athletes to be leaders); Coaches Camps (designed to minister, equip, and encourage); Team Camps (allowing student-athletes to come together to compete); Power Camps (typically for athletes 8-12 years of age); and Partnership Camps (FCA partners with some of the best organizations). FCA offers camps in a variety of sport environments impacting athletes and coaches in an expanding array of sports from surfing, to archery, to motocross. FCA also has All Ability camps for athletes with cognitive and physical impairments.
Many professional coaches and athletes have been impacted by FCA Camps, with many giving ringing endorsements for FCA’s influence on their faith journey.
Former NBA Guard Anthony Parker remarked, “FCA Camp gives me the opportunity — especially as an NBA player — to share my faith. A lot of kids don’t get to see that side of professional athletics. So, it was an opportunity for me not only to do that, but also to grow spiritually as a Christian, myself.”
LPGA Tour player, 3-time LPGA Tour Player of the Year and 6-time LPGA Major Championship winner, Betsy King, said, “FCA is a place where young people, many of whom are unchurched, can come and hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Several camps have already begun this year, while hundreds are set for the rest of June, July and August. For more information about FCA

FCA’s theme for 2025 is “Glory,” based on 2 Corinthians 3:18: “We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.” FCA reminds coaches and athletes that their identity and value is found in Christ, rather than their sport.
