Nelle Brown Memorial Library Packs Fun For All Ages into June Schedule

The Nelle Brown Memorial Library in Lyons has packed the June schedule with fun for all ages, as several activities have been scheduled for the community to enjoy.

Each week, the library will host an adult read aloud session on Mondays at 11 a.m. Story time for younger children will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, and the weekly Lego Club will meet at 4 p.m. on Wednesdays throughout the month.

On Thursday, June 12, the library will host the Twist & Turns Book Club at 11 a.m., while the monthly Spark Time will begin at 4 p.m.

The library will show weekend movies on Saturday, June 14, and Saturday, June 28. Elemental will be the film for June 14, while the community is invited to come watch Snow White on June 28.

The Kids Craft Club will create new artwork at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 16, and Monday, June 30.

Movies will be shown to help children “beat the heat” and cool down during the hottest parts of the day at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays.

A Minecraft Movie will be played on Tuesday, June 17, while Harold and the Purple Crayon will be shown on Tuesday, June 24.

The public is invited to relax at the library at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, as the library hosts Color and Coffee.

The community is invited to enjoy a sweet treat and create a wonderful painting at the Cookies and Canvas event at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 23.

The library will host a Bingo game at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 26. The monthly STEAM activity will be held at 4 p.m. on June 26.

All of these activities will be held at the library, which is located at 166 W. Liberty Avenue in Lyons.

In addition to these events held at the library, the Nelle Brown Memorial Library and the Dr. Mark and Tonya Spivey Public Library will collaborate to host weekly events at Southeastern Technical College.

On Wednesday, June 18, the Southeastern Reptile Rescue will host a demonstration at the college. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and will give kids an up-close look at several snakes and lizards.

On Wednesday, June 25, Juggler Ron Ankin will perform at the college at 11 a.m.
