Three members of the Crips and Brick Wall gang were indicted on several charges, including street gang activity, during the Toombs County Grand Jury’s convening on May 27.

The men are each charged with four counts of aggravated assault – one count for each victim – two counts of street gang activity, a count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and criminal damage to property in the first degree.

The men were indicted on the charges and will now enter a formal plea to determine their next steps within the judicial system.

The Grand Jury also indicted Reginald Rayjon Mitchell on charges of burglary (smash and grab) and theft by taking for the burglary of jewelry from K.E. Butler & Co. Jewelers on March 15, 2025.

At around 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, officers were dispatched to KE Butler & Co. Jewelers, located at 1303B E 1st Street, in reference to a burglary, where over $1,500 worth of property was taken and over $500 of damage was caused. Officers and investigators probed the case and determined the suspect to be Reginald Rayjon Mitchell, 35, of Vidalia.

Mitchell was located and arrested by patrol officers at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 16.

In addition to being indicted on charges related to this incident, Mitchell was also indicted on a burglary in the first degree charge for allegedly breaking into a home on Thompson Street in Vidalia between August 2, 2022, and August 23, 2022.

Mitchell will now enter a formal plea to the court to determine whether he will go to trial or a sentencing hearing.

Other Indictments

Several other true bills of indictment were returned by the Grand Jury: Arnado Toro Acosta – burglary in the first degree, aggravated assault (family violence), false imprisonment, battery (family violence) Dawayne Dashawn Pinckney – possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime Demario Jovon Bell – theft by deception, theft by conversion Jesus Anibel Hernandez Andino – rape, incest, child molestation (4 counts), cruelty to children in the first degree (2 counts) Luis Manuel Gomez – willful obstruction of an officer Christopher Canty Tooke – aggravated cruelty to animals Melito Morales Deleon – aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery (2 counts), child molestation Briddarious T. Mills – possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony Austin Blake Dawson – possession of methamphetamine These individuals will now enter a formal plea to the court to determine their next steps for trial, except for Mills, who pled guilty Alford – meaning he did not admit guilt to the crime but admitted there was enough evidence to convict him of the crime – on June 5. He now awaits sentencing.
