The Vidalia Heritage Academy archery teams competed in the GAPPS State Championships and had individual State Champions and members that qualified for the National Meet in Louisville, KY.

Varsity

On the varsity team Reese Neal took first place with a score of 283, and helped lead the team to a State Runner-up finish. Josey Harrell came in third place with 280 points, Riley Sanders was seventh with 270 points, and Cole Johns was tenth continued from page

with 262 points.

Middle School

The VHA Middle School team are the State Champions. They were led by Ivy Hightower with a first place finish with 280 points. Madison Staub finished second with 270 points, and Emi Powell was fourth with 256 points as was Thomas Betsill with 257 points. Emmie Hightower came in fifth place with 254 points, and Gavin Johnson was eighth with 252 points.

Coach Cassie Neal said, “We are very excited the way our archers competed. We have seven kids that have qualified for the Eastern Nationals in Kentucky which is great. Their is a chance if they do well there they could move to the Open Nationals. They have really worked hard this season, and we are looking forward to competing at Nationals.

“The middle school won State for us and just had a solid event. They shot well and it was great to come home as the State Champions.”
