CLASSROOM ELECTION — Ms. Anderson and Ms. Cowans’ second grade science and social studies classes at Wheeler County Elementary School had a classroom election on Friday, February 23. The students learned about different offices like the president, vice-president, governor, mayor, and secretary and the roles that they play. They worked on their campaigns the entire week by creating posters with their slogans and writing speeches that they delivered to their class and their parents on Friday. After delivering their speeches, the parents helped the students to graph the results of the election on a bar graph by documenting the number of votes each candidate got without revealing any names. Teachers then announced which student won for each office and students got to document it on their bar graph.
