The Toombs County High School Bulldogs Esports team has concluded its most successful season to date, capping off a sensational journey with the Splatoon 3 team securing State Runnerup for the second consecutive year. In the short four-year history of the program, the Bulldogs have proven themselves as a force to be reckoned with, finishing the Fall 2023 regular season as the second-ranked team in the state of Georgia.

The Bulldogs showcased their dominance in the playoffs, securing commanding victories over formidable opponents, including both Richmond Hill teams and Mill Creek, all AAAAAAA contenders. Their impressive performance set the stage for a return to the state finals against perennial Splatoon 3 powerhouse, Northview. Despite facing a fierce adversary, the Bulldogs started the championship match strong, claiming a turfwar win. However, the Titans ultimately emerged victorious with a 3-1 victory.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe team also contributed to the Bulldogs’ success, reaching the third round of the GHSA state playoffs for the second time in team history.

More notable achievements from the Fall 2023 season include the Bulldogs winning their 450th game in program history, achieving their first 100win season, and securing their 48th playoff victory. These milestones underscore the program’s commitment to excellence and its dedication to fostering a winning culture.

Looking ahead to the Spring 2024 season, the Bulldogs will continue to build on their success with the Splatoon 3 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe teams. Additionally, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate and Rocket League will make a return, expanding the range of titles in which the Bulldogs aim to excel.
