Sweet Onion Cheer Classic

The Vidalia High School competition cheerleaders had to postpone their Annual Sweet Onion Cheer Classic a few weeks ago due to Hurrican Ian. They have rescheduled the event, and it will take place this Thursday and Friday in Parsons-Reid Gymnasium. The schedule of the event will be different due to having to hold it during the week instead of on a Saturday.

This will be the 22nd Annual Sweet Onion Cheer Classic and even with the rescheduled event will still host 16 high school and 16 middle school teams. The event is sponsored by Paul Thigpen Automotive Group.

On Thursday the high school competition will take place beginning at 6:00 p.m. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. Local teams that will feature in the high school portion of the event will be Vidalia, Toombs County, and Robert Toombs Christian Academy.

The middle school portion of the event will take place on Friday. It will feature JR Trippe and Toombs County. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. and the competition will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online at vidaliaathletics.com. The link to purchase tickets is at the top.
