Two Injured as Trucks Collide at Intersection

Two men were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Georgia Highway 15 and Green Tippett Road on January 24.

The Georgia State Patrol (GSP), which is investigating the mishap, reported that a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Jonathan Lawton Wyatt of Adrian collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado being operated by Benjamin Rubio of Lyons. The wreck occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital for treatment. There were no other passengers in either vehicle.

The GSP reported the accident occurred as Wyatt, who was headed west on Green Tippett Road, failed to stop at a stop sign and traveled onto Highway 15, striking Rubio’s vehicle, which was going north on Highway 15. The GSP said that Wyatt told the investigating officer that he had fallen asleep due to medication for gastric issues and did not wake up until after the accident.
