Toombs Takes Area Traditional

Toombs County High School hosted the Area 2 Traditional Wresting Tournament last week and came away as the Area Champions with six individual champions.

Kameron Clark won the title at 113lbs. He won in the championship match over Markeal Crawford of Vidalia by technical fall. At 120 Samuel Register also earned the championship. his semifinal win, he defeated Jaylen Lane of Vidalia by pin to earn 1st place.

Tank Morris won the title at 195lbs. He beat Levi Palmer of Vidalia in the semifinals and then won over Marquez Haris of East Laurens in the finals by pin. Wil Watts was 1st at 220lbs. After his semifinals win he defeated Josiah Townsel of Vidalia in the finals by pin to earn the title. And at 285lbs Brock Nobles earned 1st place. Nobles won over Washington County in the quarterfinals and East Laurens in the semifinals before facing off with Tommy Walker of Vidalia in the finals. Nobles won the match by a close 4-2 decision to win the championship.

Bruce Agzigian took 2nd place at 138lbs. He won his semifinal match over East Laurens, but lost the title match to Javarius Worthen of Vidalia by pin. Jeremy Brantley took 2nd at 160lbs. He won in the quarterfinals over Swainsboro and in the semifinals over Washington County, but lost the finals match to Hunter Manning of Vidalia by pin.

Trayvone Harris took 2nd place at 170lbs. He won over Vidalia in the semifinals, but lost the finals match to Trysten Baker of East Laurens by decision, 9-6 in a tough fought match. Thomas Cloud earned 2nd place at 182lbs. In the finals he lost a 15-10 decision to Decarlos Willingham of Vidalia.

At 106lbs. Ryan Galbreath was 3rd with a bye. Dylan Vetter was 3rd at 126lbs. with a pin in the consofinals over Swainsboro. Jamar Jones was 3rd at 152lbs. With a pin in the consofinals over Swainsboro.

And at 145lbs. Michale Jones was 4th. He had a win in the consosemis, but fell in the finals to East Laurens by technical fall.

Toombs will now compete in the Sectional Tournament this weekend.
