Mr. Billy Norris
Mr. Billy Wayne Norris age 81, of Soperton, died on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Serenity Place in Dublin. Mr. Norris was born in Treutlen County. He served in the United States Army as a Gunner. He worked with the Braddy Oil Company. He worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation and retireed in 2000. He was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church since childhood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Lee Norris, Sr., and Katie Mae Scott Norris; and his siblings, Tiny Lou Norris, Johnnie Faye Norris Morris and Virgil Lee Norris, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Peggy Holton Norris, Soperton; his children, Eddie Duane Norris (Veronica), Lothair Community of Soperton, and Debbie Norris, Soperton; 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Chris and Jordan Norris, Chris Rowland, Heather Braddy (Garrett), Markie McDaniel (Dakota); 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, with Pastor Glen Pullian and Sheriff Tommy Corbin officiating. Interment followed in Bethsaida Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Redfern, Jimmy Bailey, Ricky Morris, Wayne Morris, Trent Morris and Barry Norris. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Ware, Earl Parrish and the members of the Bethsaida Baptist Church Sunday School Class. Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton was in charge of arrangements.
