Mrs. Marjorie Davis

Mrs. Marjorie Lockley Davis, age 88, of Vidalia, died on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at her home after a sudden illness. Mrs. Davis was a native of the Marvin Community, growing up in lower Toombs County before moving to Vidalia in 1956. She worked many years at drug stores in Vidalia, including City Drugs, Gibson’s Pharmacy, Plaza Pharmacy, and after retiring worked at Phillips Pharmacy. She was a member of Calvary on Aimwell and attended Ruth’s Chapel United Methodist church. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, William Cecil “Big Cecil” Thompson and Richard Davis; and 5 siblings, Millard Lockley, Milton Lockley, James Lockley, Mary Lockley Davis, and Johnnie Lockley Davis.

Her family includes 2 children, Cecelia Thompson and Cecil Thompson and wife Melinda, and 1 granddaughter, Brogan Thompson, all of Vidalia; 1 brother, Julian Lockley and wife Betty of the Normantown Community; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Brian Durden and Pastor Gaynor Ridgdill officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mac Davis, Ronnie Davis, John Lockley, Jeff Lockley, Maynard Lockley, Keven Knowles, and Andy Thompson.
