Mr. Larry Cooper

Mr. Larry Cooper, age 77, of Mt. Vernon, died on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Tattnall Healthcare Center in Reidsville after a brief illness. Mr. Cooper was a lifelong resident of Ailey and Mt. Vernon and was a 1962 graduate of Montgomery County High School. He was a welder in the early 1980’s and more recently was self-employed as a pine straw wholesaler. He was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and was active with the youth at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Cooper and Rossie Thigpen Cooper; and 1 sister, Rosemary Cooper Russell.

His family includes 1 sister, Elizabeth Cooper Adams and husband Steve of the Spring Hill Community in Wheeler County; 1 brother, Randall Cooper and wife Sherri of the McGregor Community; 1 nephew, Michael Adams and wife Becky; 2 nieces, Laura Adams, all of Spring Hill, and Rachael Russell of Reidsville; 4 great-nephews; and 1 great-niece.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor B.L. Horne officiating.
