Mr. Herschel Thompson IV

Mr. Herschel Van Buren Thompson IV, “Little Van,” of Vidalia, died on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Grady Hospital in

Atlanta. Mr. Thompson was born in Savannah and grew up in Ailey before moving to Vidalia several years ago. He graduated from Montgomery High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He was a member of College Hill Baptist Church in

Mount Vernon. Surviving are his parents, Karen Thompson Chapman and Biram Chapman of Vidalia; his wife, Lesley Thompson of Vidalia; his biological father, Herschel Van Buren Thompson III “Big Van” (Nina) of Mount Vernon; 2 sons, Chason Van “Chase” Thompson and Herschel Van Lynnden “Chelden” Thompson, both of Vidalia; 1 daughter, Timber Thompson of Long Pond; 1 sister, Lauren Thompson Collins ( Jason Hadden); 1 half-sister, Terri Williford (Tim); 1 half-brother, Tracy Smith (Lesley); and several nieces and nephews including Katie Clare Collins and Anna Kamille Collins.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter, with a time of reflection to begin at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel.
