Mr. David Eason Thomas Roemer, ….

Mr. David Eason Thomas Roemer, age 27, formerly of Powder Springs, died on Monday, September 13, 2021, in Idaho Falls, ID.

Mr. Roemer was born in Calgary Alberta, Canada, and grew up in Powder Springs. He was a 2012 graduate of McEachern High School, where he was a percussionist and a member of the drum line. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, where he played drums for worship services and was a youth group worship leader. He served in the United States Navy and entered the Nuclear Training Program in Charleston, SC. He served 6 years on active duty as a Nuclear Mechanic, stationed at Bangor Base, WA, assigned to the USS Louisiana Nuclear Submarine Gold Crew. He worked with the Department of Energy at the Idaho National Laboratory as a Nuclear Research Technician. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Webb.

Survivors include his fiancé, Emily Oleachea, Silverdale, WA; his mother, Tammy Webb Roemer, Smyrna; his father, Robert Edward Roemer, Northern Ireland; his siblings, Annaleise Davis ( Jordan), Dallas, GA, Ian Roemer (Elisa), Syracuse, UT, Jenny Johnson (Boone), Athens, GA, and Meghan Hagan (Michael), LaGrange, GA; his maternal grandmother, Loreta Gillis Webb, Soperton; his paternal grandparents, Tom Roemer (Nancy), Decatur, AL, and Joy Presnell (Gerald), Toccoa; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service was conducted on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in Hutcheson Cemetery, with Pastor Alan Davis of the First Baptist Church of Powder Springs officiating.

Military honors were accorded by the United States Navy Command Southeast Region.

Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton was in charge of arrangements.
