Mr. Melvin Jackson

Mr. Melvin Jackson of Uvalda died on July 13, 2021, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Mr. Jackson was a native of Montgomery County. He was a retired trucker and Staff Sgt. in the National Guard in Lyons. He was a deacon at the Isle of Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Uvalda. He was past district grand master of Vidalia District #24, past Worthy Uvalda Enterprise #263 o.e.c., Uvalda, and a member of Glenwood Lodge #139.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Jackson, Uvalda; 1 daughter, Andrea Craigton; 4 sons, Tony Neils, Baxley, George (Nikki) Johnson, Vidalia, Melvin (Candy) Tillis, Lyons, and Elvin (Jessica) Jackson, Uvalda; 1 brother, Ralph Jones, Miami, FL; 5 sisters, Marcella (Tommy) Sanders, Orlando, FL, Velma (Chester) Watley, Soperton, and Willa Moring, Jacquelyn Jones, and Valarie Jones, all of Uvalda; 16 grandchildren; and 2 greatgrandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in the Isle of Hope
