Ms. Buford was a native of Candler County. She held a Master’s degree in Education and was a retired teacher.

Survivors include 2 sons, Richard Buford, Greenville, SC, and Brian Buford, Maulden, SC; 1 daughter, Tracy Buford, Collins; 3 sisters, Dorothy Medlock, Collins, Flossie Banks, Belleville, and Joyce Smith, Miami, FL; 4 brothers, Thomas Medlock, Nathaniel Medlock, and Louis Medlock, all of Collins, and James Medlock, Winston-Salem, NC; and 10 grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., at Bethel A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Collins.
