Ms. Mary Jones

Ms. Mary Linda Mc-Crimmon Jones, age 71, of Eastman, died on Saturday, October 3, 2020, in Memorial Hospital in Savannah. Ms. Jones was born in Lyons, grew up in Montgomery County and was a 1966 graduate of Montgomery County High School, where she played basketball and was named Most Valuable Player. She lived in several places during her life, including Hawaii, before making Eastman her home 30 years ago. She was baptized in the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Vernon in 1959 and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Eastman and formerly served as church pianist. She was an accomplished pianist and musician. She was a regular attendee at the Senior Citizen’s Center in Eastman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Hicks McCrimmon and Mary Bess Cummings McCrimmon; 1 brother, Emmett Ray McCrimmon; and 1 sister, Gail Johnson and husband Pete.

Survivors include 1 sister, Shirley Mathis and husband Marvin of Jones County; and 7 nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., in Liberty Baptist Church in Eastman.
