Mrs. Pauline James, age 86, of the Mt. Moriah Community, died on Monday, August 31, 2020, in The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia after an extended illness. Mrs. James was born in Ft. Valley and as a child moved to Reidsville, where she lived most of her life. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl James, Sr.; 1 granddaughter, Carla James; her parents, Cleophas Leroy “C.L.” Keen and Ella Elizabeth Bryan Keen; 1 brother, James Keen; and 2 sisters, Betty Ruth Hobbs and Doris Edenfield. Survivors include 2 children, Carline Taylor and husband Charles, and Carl James, Jr., all of Mt. Moriah; 1 sister, Pam Garrett of Lincolnton, NC; 3 grandchildren, Paula Copeland and husband Bobby of Mt. Moriah, Alisha Watson and husband Ryan of Warner Robins, and Jessie Jones of Washington State; 4 great-grandchildren, Ramsi Copeland and wife Joni of Keysville, Raegan Biddle and husband Tyler of Vidalia, Payton Parrish and Noah Watson, both of Washington; 2 greatgreat- granddaughters, Cade and Ellarae Biddle; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow later in the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery.
