With family, teammates, coaches, and friends looking on, Bryce Morley became the 8th player from the 2022 State Championship team to sign a Letter of Intent to play at the next level. On Wednesday afternoon inside the VHS Auditorium, Morley signed to play at Brewton-Parker College.

“They are just amazing people and very welcoming,” Morley said when asked why he chose Brewton-Parker. “They had me throw and immediately offered me and then I met some of the players, and that helped with my decision. Plus, they offer a degree in Exercise Science, which is what I want to major in.”

Morley, who had the 2nd highest number of innings pitched this year, continued from page

ended his high school career with a 4.24 ERA. But that doesn’t tell the whole story; during the Region 2AA schedule this year, Morley’s ERA was a scant 1.90. In his appearances in the playoffs against Banks Co. and Lovett, Morley fired three scoreless innings allowing one hit, with three Strikeouts.

“Bryce was always ready,” said Vidalia Head Coach Brent Korn. He was our go-to guy when we needed some solid innings. He also got some quality starts at the beginning of the year and relieved Ty at first base. No matter what, he was always ready when I asked him to play. That says a lot about his character because sitting there waiting on your turn is tough as a senior. But Bryce never once complained. He knew his role, accepted it, played well when called upon, and was, without a doubt, a huge part of our success this year.”
