The Vidalia High School basketball teams saw their thrilling postseason runs come to a close last week in the GHSA Class A Division 1 State Tournament. Girls vs. Elbert Co.

The Lady Indians hosted the Lady Blue Devils of Elbert County last Tuesday in a highly anticipated Elite 8 matchup. Elbert County came out firing in the first quarter, building a 14-6 lead.

However, the Lady Blue Devils found their rhythm again in the third quarter, extending their advantage to 4430. Despite a relentless effort from Vidalia in the final frame, Elbert County secured the victory, ending the game at 61-38.

Ze Rollins and Mischa Wardlaw anchored the Lady Indians' offense, tying for the team lead with 11 points apiece. The Lady Indians concluded a phenomenal season with an impressive 22-7 overall record.

Boys vs. SW Macon

The Indians then traveled to Fort Valley State University on Saturday to face off against the Patriots of Southwest Macon with a trip to the State Championship on the line.

The momentum shifted dramatically in the third quarter as Southwest went on a scoring run, overcoming the deficit and taking a 43-37 lead heading into the final period.

In the fourth quarter, the Patriots managed to pull away, ultimately handing the Indians a 62-51 defeat.
