The Robert Toombs Christian Academy basketball teams faced a grueling threegame schedule last week, traveling to Memorial Day and Citizens Christian Academy while hosting John Hancock Academy on Thursday. The Lady Crusaders finished the week 1-2, securing a victory over John Hancock, while the boys' team remained perfect through the stretch, winning all three contests. vs. Memorial Day

The week began on the road against the Matadors of Memorial Day. The Lady Crusaders struggled to find their rhythm, falling to the Lady Matadors 45-28.

In the boys' matchup, Drew Edwards delivered a standout performance, pouring in 30 points to lead RTCA. The Crusaders established early control, leading 17-10 after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 31-22 by halftime. RTCA maintained a comfortable 4834 margin heading into the final period. Despite a furious fourth-quarter rally by Memorial, the Crusaders held their ground to secure a 58-54 victory. vs. John Hancock Returning home on Thursday, both RTCA teams found success against the Rebels. The Lady Crusaders dominated early, jumping out to an 11-7 lead in the first quarter and widening the gap to 36-19 by halftime. The boys' team continued the momentum, rolling over the Rebels 68-33. Edwards led the scoring again with 25 points, supported by Boss Franklin, who added 11. RTCA stifled the Rebels' offense early, leading 18-7 after the first quarter and 34-19 at the break before blowing the game open with a 58-24 lead by the end of the third. vs. CCA

The boys completed their weekly sweep with a 62-54 win, once again fueled by Edwards, who scored a week-high 38 points. Tayshaun Franklin contributed 15 points to the effort. After a tight first quarter ended with RTCA up 11-8, the Crusaders pulled away in the second to take a commanding 3013 halftime lead. CCA managed to cut the deficit to 42-32 by the end of the third, but RTCA held off the late push to seal the win.

The Lady Crusaders are 11-8 on the season and they are 0-2 in Region play. They boys are now 12-6 on the year and 2-0 in the Region. This week is the next to last of the regular season. RTCA will take on Edmund Burke on Thursday at home at 6:00 p.m. and will host Memorial Day on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
