Robert Toombs Christian Academy's football team earned a hard-fought 27-21 victory over the Southland Academy Raiders on Friday night, fueled by a dominant performance from quarterback Drew Edwards and a tenacious Crusader defense.

Edwards delivered a standout effort, completing 13 of 19 passes for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also running for 140 yards and 2 more scores on the ground. His dual-threat ability kept the Raiders’ defense off balance all night.

Brittan Tabor was Edwards’ top target, hauling in 7 catches for 70 yards and a touchdown, providing a steady presence in the passing game and helping the Crusaders move the chains in key moments. continued from page

The Crusader defense also came up big, forcing three turnovers that helped swing the momentum. Blake Durden and Alijah Hodges anchored the unit with 7 tackles each, consistently flying to the ball and making stops in crucial situations.

With the win, RTCA improves to 1-1 in region play. The Crusaders will close out their regular season this Friday on the road at Trinity Christian Academy, looking to carry this momentum into the postseason.
