Homecoming At MCHS


It was a tough Homecoming night for the Eagles football team of Montgomery County High School as they were defeated by the Bobcats of Dooly County, 39- 6.
The Eagles also crowned their 2025 Homecoming King and Queen on Friday night. Jaden Turner was named as the Homecoming King and the Queen was Bailey Fountain.
Dooly got on the board first with a touchdown in the first quarter of the game to take a 6-0 lead. The Eagles tied the game with 9:28 left in the first half on a 9-yard interception return for a touchdown by Zay Waller. But that was the only score the Eagles got in the game against the Bobcats.
Neither team found the end zone again in the first half, sending the game to halftime knotted at 6-6.
The Dooly County Bobcats dominated the second half against Montgomery County, turning a slim lead into a decisive 39-6 victory.
The third quarter began with Montgomery County kicking off to Dooly County, tied 6-6. Dooly took the lead back with about 3 minutes to go in the third quarter on a rushing touchdown. That gave them a 13-6 lead over the Eagles after a successful PAT.
The Bobcats quickly extended their lead just a couple of minutes later, Dooly County punched in a rushing touchdown and followed up with a successful point after attempt, moving the score to 20-6.

all Bobcats. About eight minutes remained when Dooly County ran in another score to take a 26-6 lead. The Dooly County offense kept rolling, scoring on a passing touchdown with roughly six minutes left, followed by a successful PAT for a 33-6 lead.
They put the final nail in the coffin with another passing touchdown around the two-minute mark making the final score, Dooly County 39, Montgomery County 6.
MCHS is now 1-5 on the season and they are 0-2 in Region play. This week the Eagles will travel to Alamo to take on the Bulldogs of Wheeler County with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
