VHS Softball Over Toombs


The Vidalia Lady Indians secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over their rival, the Toombs County Lady Bulldogs, on Tuesday. The win was a testament to strong pitching and timely hitting in a classic rivalry showdown.
Vidalia's starting pitcher, Tori Polke, was the star of the show. She delivered a dominant performance, striking out 10 batters over seven innings. Polke was in control from the start, allowing just three hits and not walking a single batter. Toombs County's pitching also held its own, with Taylor Bland taking the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings while striking out two.
The game's scoring was concentrated in the early innings. Toombs County got on the scoreboard first, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Vidalia error. But that was the only run that the Indians allowed on the day.

The Indians are now 9-9 on the season overall, but they are 4-0 in Region play. This week VHS was at West Laurens on Monday after presstime. They will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to East Laurens at 6:00 p.m. On Thursday, they will host Savannah Christian at 6:00 p.m.
