Eagles Dominate Cougars in 51-7 Rout

The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles football team dominated the Grace Christian Academy Cougars on Friday night, putting on an offensive clinic that led to a decisive 51-7 victory. The Eagles' high-octane offense was firing on all cylinders from the opening kickoff, and their defense held continued from page
the Cougars to just one touchdown in the second half.
The Eagles set the tone immediately. Following the opening kickoff, quarterback Jake Adams took charge, capping the first drive with a rushing touchdown. He then connected with Wayne Richardson for a two-point conversion, giving the Eagles an early 8-0 lead with about nine minutes left in the first quarter.
Adams continued his impressive performance, quickly leading the team down the field again. He found Levi McDade for a passing touchdown, and kicker Sergei Fontaine added the extra point to make it 15-0. The Eagles' relentless attack continued as Adams linked up with Trevor White for another passing touchdown, with Fontaine's kick making the score 22-0 by the end of the first quarter.
The Eagles’ offensive onslaught didn’t slow down in the second quarter. Adams and Richardson connected for two more passing touchdowns, showcasing their chemistry. Adams also completed a two-point conversion to Dylan Green, who later added to the score himself with a rushing touchdown. The Eagles' backfield proved to be a multi-faceted threat, as Chuck Page also ran in a touchdown before halftime. With Fontaine's perfect kicking on every point-after attempt, the Eagles went into the locker room with an overwhelming 51-0 lead.
With the game well in hand, the Eagles’ coaching staff opted to give many of their second-string players valuable playing time in the second half. This opened the door for the Cougars to finally get on the scoreboard. About three minutes into the third quarter, a rushing touchdown by Grace Christian Academy and a successful PAT brought the score to 51-7.
Both teams fought hard through the rest of the game, but neither was able to score again with the running clock due to the mercy rule. The Eagles' defense, even with new faces on the field, stood tall and prevented any further scoring from the Cougars.
VHA is now 2-1 on the season, and they are 2-1 in Region play. This week they will be at David Emanuel Academy in Stillmore on Friday night with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
