RTCA Rolls Over Jaguars

The Crusader football team of Robert Toombs Christian Academy ran away with a victory over the Jaguars of Thomas Jefferson Academy at home last Friday night. It was the Drew Edwards show for RTCA as he passed for 155 yards and 3 touchdowns and rushed for another 164 yards and a touchdown. Brittan Tabor, Blake Durden, and Anthony Cook were the main targets of Edwards in the passing game.
RTCA got on the board first with a nice pass from Edwards to Anthony Cook in the left corner of the end zone from about 20 yards out. Hayden Meeks tacked on the extra point to take a 7-0 lead. The Jaguars answered with just over five minutes to go in the first quarter on a long 72-yard pass for the score. They missed the extra point, though, as RTCA remained on top, 7-6.
In the second quarter, RTCA had extended their lead to 14-6. Thomas Jefferson added a touchdown, but again failed on the extra point as RTCA held onto a 14-12 lead. Just before the end of the first half, with 48 seconds on the clock, Edwards found Jordan Brown on a touchdown pass as RTCA pushed the lead to 21-12.
With just under four minutes to play in the third quarter, the Crusaders had taken a 28-19 lead. RTCA added one more touchdown in the third quarter as they held a 34-19 lead heading to the fourth.
The Crusades scored one more time in the fourth quarter as they took the win over the Jaguars, 41-19.
This week RTCA will host Bulloch Academy on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
