Vidalia Rec. Announces Fall Sports Sign-ups

Fall sports registration is currently open at the Vidalia Recreation Department. Registration for both soccer and football runs from August 4 to August 22. The registration fee for either sport is $45. You can register online at secure. rec1.com, by phone at 912-537-7913, or in person at the office located at the Ed Smith Complex. The department accepts cash, check, and card, but be aware that using a card includes an additional convenience fee.

Soccer

The available soccer leagues are 4U Coed, 6U will have separate boys and girls league, 8U Coed, 10U Coed, 12U Coed, and 10U Girls League.

A coaches' meeting for all age groups will be held on August 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the VRD office.

Evaluations will be held on August 25 and 26 for certain age groups, but 4U and 6U do not have evaluations.

Team selections and drafts for coaches will take place on August 28. Practices are scheduled to begin the week of September 8, with the first game on September 15 and the last game on October 27.

Football Football leagues include 6U Flag, 8U Flag, 10U Padded, and 12U Padded.

The coaches' meeting for all football age groups is on August 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the Dixon Building.

Evaluations for 8U Flag and 10U Padded are on August 27, while 6U does not have evaluations.

Drafts for 8U Flag and 10U Padded are also on August 27 in the VRD office. The 6U Flag team selection is on September 2.

The first game is on September 15 , and the last game is on October 21. Additionally, the 10U Football league will have an All-Stars team this year.
