Lady Crusaders Open With 2 Wins
The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Lady Crusaders softball team kicked off their season last week with games against Cairo and Terrell Academy. RTCA played well and won both games easily. vs. Cairo
The RTCA Lady Crusaders secured an impressive 13-4 victory on Friday, overcoming an early fourrun deficit to dominate the second half of the game.
The Lady Crusaders found themselves trailing early after Cairo scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning, capitalizing on an error and a series of walks and fielder's choices.
However, RTCA quickly rallied, tying the game in the top of the second inning. The comeback was sparked by a dropped third strike, followed by key hits from Anna Kate Joyner and Annabelle Coe.
The momentum truly shifted in the top of the fourth when the Lady Crusaders exploded for five runs on just two hits, taking a decisive 9-4 lead. The biggest hit of the inning came from Amelia Mercer, who singled to drive in two runs and cap off the scoring surge.

The Lady Crusaders secured a decisive victory on Saturday, easily dispatching Terrell Academy with a final score of 14- 4.
The Lady Crusaders wasted no time getting on the board, opening the scoring in the top of the first inning with two singles. Braylin Pittman singled to drive in the first run, giving the team an early lead.
The offense continued to click in the third inning. A walk by Mary Frances Stanley and a single by Lizzie Sapp helped the Lady Crusaders extend their advantage.
The floodgates opened in the top of the fifth inning as the Lady Crusaders exploded for six runs on just two hits. The inning was sparked by an error that scored one run, followed by another error that brought in a second. Chesney Burch then singled to score a run, and Lizzie Sapp capped off the scoring with a single that plated three more runs.
RTCA only allowed Terrell to score four runs in the game as they took the win, 14-4. Sapp took the win in the circle for RTCA.
RTCA will have this week off and will get back to action on Monday of next week when they host Vidalia Heritage Academy at 6:00 p. m.
