Vidalia High School standout baseball player, Ty Dalley, is now in his junior season with the Bears of Mercer University. He has had a solid career with the Bears, and in his third year, he has achieved a milestone as he has become Mercer's all-time home run leader.

Dalley had a great career with the Indians at VHS as he had a career batting average of .338 for VHS. Dalley was selected to the 2021 All Region 1st Team, and was on the Georgia Dugout Club's 2021 2nd Team All State. He was also named to the All Region 1st Team for 2022 in the year that VHS won the State Championship in dramatic fashion over Thomasville.

Dalley has made a name for himself as a Bear. In his freshman season, he hit 18 home runs and was a Southern Conference All-Freshman. In his sophomore season, he began to break out as he hit 21 home runs, and was the first Mercer player in nearly a decade, and one of nine continued from page

in school history, to have over 70 RBIs in a season. He hit .316 in his sophomore year, and was named to the SoCon All Tournament Team.

His stats have gone down just a bit this season as he is batting .274, but he has hit another 18 home runs, and drove in nearly 60 RBIs. And with a big swing on Sunday of last week against Virginia Tech, Dalley hit a three-run home run to set the alltime career record with 57 home runs.

The Bears have three more regular season games left this year, with a threegame home stand against Samford this week. They will then enter the SoCon Tournament. Dalley has the chance to pull away and make this record a tough one to beat. Plus he has all next season, if he doesn't get drafted by the Majors first.
