Lyons Youth Tourney Underway

The 59th Annual Lyons Youth Tournament kicked off last week at Partin Park and at Toombs County High School. Several age groups took to the fields including the 14u boys and girls, 12u boys and girls, and 10u boys and girls.

The 14u girls played their games at TCHS while the rest of the age groups played across the four fields at Partin Park. The first Championship Games took place on Tuesday night of this week after presstime, and full coverage of these age groups will be in next week's issue of The Advance. Several local teams have played well in their tournaments and a couple played in the title games on Tuesday.

There has always been a solid turnout of teams from around the area and that has been no different this year. The famous chicken fingers are being ate in large quantities as always, and many that have been in attendance have commented on the hospitality they have received.

The Advance will continue to cover this great event over the next few weeks as all of the age groups get their chance to vye for a title.
