On December 15, 1982, the Toombs County Hospital Authority secured funding for a 34-bed expansion to the hospital in the amount of $4.75 million by issuing revenue bonds. Local officials and members of the Authority present at the signing included Wayne Smith, Secretary of the TCHA, Larry Parks, Administrator of Meadows Memorial Hospital, Charles Andrew, Attorney for TCHA, and Fred McDole, Chief Financial Officer of Meadows Memorial Hospital.
