The zone change request is to change the current zone of R-1A Single Family Residential to C-3 Highway Oriented Commercial. The property is further described below: All that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the City of Vidalia, 51st G.M. District of Toombs County, Georgia, containing 10.83 acres, more or less, and being more particularly shown on a certain plat of survey prepared by Charles M. Zeigler, Registered Surveyor, dated May 1981, and recorded in Plat Book 18, page 78, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Toombs County, Georgia, which plat and record thereof are incorporated herein, by reference, and made a part of this description. Said tract is bounded, now or formerly, as follows: North by land of Jessie C. Higgs, by land of Charles and Angela Lane, and by the right-of way of Brice Road; East by land of Gregory D. Brandenburg; South by the right-of-way of US Highway 280; and West by land of Patricia McCullough and Mary R. Van Dyke and by land of Arnold Raj and Irene Retina. Said tract is the same tract as conveyed to William Craig Snell and Mary Margaret Brice Snell from Marcia M. Suber, by warranty deed, recorded on November 22, 2019, in Deed Book 1280, pages 190-191, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Toombs County, Georgia. A public hearing will be held by the Vidalia Planning Commission on December 6, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. A final hearing will be held by the Vidalia City Council on December 12, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Vidalia Municipal Annex at 302 First St. E.
