JEFF’S TEARS BY GARY TOOLE As the lord lead him to where as a child he sat in Sunday school being taught about Jesus and His great love for him and tears ran down his littleface. JusttoknowthatJesus loved him so. As he stood near the cemetery where family members were buried a lady said, “Jeff why are you crying?” There was no response as he wiped his tears. I know she said. Jesus knows and loves and cares. Tears are a language He understands. He sees the tears of a broken hearted soul. He sees your tears and He hears them when they fall. He weeps along with man and takes him by the hand. Tears are a language God understands. In 1954 my uncle stood before the old Cedar Crossing Church of God and as my dad spoke tears flowed down Uncle Pick’s face and I knew as a child that it was tears of conviction. He did not live a long time after that but as told by the lord my aunt said, that all was well with his soul. So we trust the same for Jeff. I believe the lord ledhimtherethatday. Iremember Jeff as a bright, curly headed young man with a great big smile when he was just a boy. He had high hopes of being a hair stylist which is an honorable profession but life has it’s way of dimming our hopes and seemingly erasing our smile and then as tears began to flow then is where we meet Jesus standing in His omnipresent being weeping with us and His great love lifts our spirit and we can sing that great song, “He touched me, oh he touched me and oh the joy that floods my soul. Something happened and now I know He touched me and made me whole.” Jeff’s tears was a connection to God the father. Standing there seemingly all alone but not alone. You see when family is gone and friends are gone there is only one we can go to and that is Jesus Christ our lord and savior. What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, what a priviledge to carry everything to God in prayer! Jeff’s tears were bottled in heaven. Jesus will never leave us! Jeff met Jesus that day! So I will say amen! This piece is in memory of Jeff Hall! God bless! PD. ADV.
